Two Social Security Payments Coming for Eligible Americans in January 2025

If you’re a Social Security beneficiary in retiree Group 4 and also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you’re in line to receive two payments before the end of January.

These payments are a critical financial boost for many, and understanding the schedule can help you plan your month more effectively.

Payment Dates to Know

Here’s when the two payments will be sent out:

  • January 22, 2025: Social Security retirement payment for Group 4.
  • January 31, 2025: Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment.

Who Qualifies for These Payments?

To receive both payments, you must meet these criteria:

  1. Retiree Group 4: This includes anyone with a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month who applied for retirement in May 1997 or later.
  2. SSI Beneficiary: You must have been approved for Supplemental Security Income benefits.

How to Ensure Timely Payments?

It’s recommended that you activate Direct Deposit as your payment method if you want to receive your payments on time.

This ensures funds are deposited directly into your bank account on the payment date. Without Direct Deposit, you’ll need to wait a few extra days for your check to arrive by mail.

What Do These Payments Cover?

Plan Ahead

For eligible Americans, these two payments are a valuable resource to help with financial planning and monthly expenses.

Be sure to confirm your eligibility and ensure your payment method is up to date to avoid delays.
